The Gee Parchments
A genealogical research book about people in the UK. References from the mid 1500's to the early 1900's
I have a private collection of ancient UK parchments dating from the early 1700s to the early 1900s, and some refer back another hundred or more years. A person may be mentioned on a parchments dated 1850, but it is in reference to a document that concerned them in the 1600s. From these parchemtns I have taken the several thousand names of the people mentioned with the information concerning them, and compiled a book.

The amount of information on each person varies but the type of information you would find where available is the address where they lived or were employed, occupation, spouse, maiden name, children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, date of marriage, date their Will was written, date of their death, where they are buried, names of the trustees or executors. It may list what they inherited or other little bits of information. One lady lent the government of India a large sum of money.

Each person is crossed referenced to a main person from that parchments. Included in the summary of the main person is a list of all the names found on that particular parchment. I felt this would be a help since other people mentioned may also be family members, and by reading the data on each individual it would give a better insight about the informaition on the parchment. The last few pages are a list of estates, manors and businesses.

I have tried to keep the cost of the book to a minimum. It is an 81/2" x 11" soft coverd, 306 page genealogical reference book. Invaluable to anyone doing research in the UK. the price of the book is $49.98+shipping, the same information on CD is $27.00+shipping for Canada or US is $3.98, international is $5.00, all prices are Canadian. Some of the parchments were incomplete and I was unable to retrieve enough information to be of any use. I am also offering the parchments for sale. The price varies depending on the age, condition and importance. Many people have contacted me with concerns about purchasing the book when they are not sure if the person mentioned is realated to them. I can appreciate their apprehension . So I am offering to do look ups  of persons named in the book. The cost of this service will be $10.00 Canadian, per person searched.
Here is a sample of the type of information available.
Randolph Elizabeth (nee Little). On an indenture dated Dec. 31, 1812, she lived in the parish of Winterbourne, County of Gloucester. She then moved to Bristol. Elizabeth was the wife of William Randolph. Her Will was dated March 19, 1800. She died in Sept. 1811. See Richard Symes. 9 sheets & front. Very good
This has been a very large project and there were times when I wondered why am I doing this. However now it is complete and the information is available to anyone who wants it, I'm glad I did do it. I hope other people will find the same enjoyment in finding this information as I did in researching it.
A list of the names from the book are shown on this site. Many of the names several times in the book.
