Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".

When I meet people that are in crisis situations or difficult situations I remember where my husband and I have come from!

Our background is any thing but good or happy. My mother was killed in an auto/train accident when I was 8, my husbands mother committed sucide when he was 13.

Growing up we didn't have people who could guide and direct us in the right way, so we grew up with an attitude of anything goes.

Both coming from broken marriages, where alcohol and drugs played a very big part. Anyone looking from the outside in wouldn't have given us very good odds of making it.

What most people don't consider is God.....


When the Lord really started to deal with us I was in a phsyc ward and he was in jail headed for the prison. Not a very good place to be to have to learn what the Lord had to say about marriage! (Ephesians 5)

You see we have all had bad things happen and we all have reasons for giving up and quitting. The difference in people who are successful in life and those that are not is they do not give up.

We did not give up on each other. We hung in there and 13 years ago God planted a vision of a ministry within us.


It took 5 years for the seeds to be sown and the harvest to come. Most people miss the fact that most things are not instant.

In 1990 we both became ordained ministers so we could start New Hope Food Pantry/Outreach in St. Charles, Mo. What we thought was going to be a place to minister to people in AA and NA has grown to a Food Pantry that over 36,000 people in 2000.

A church, New Hope Fellowship has grown from the meetings.In 1999 we have had the opportunity to lead 18 people to the Lord and baptize them..
We also can look back and know that had we not gone through the "bad things" we could not minister to some of the people whose lives we have been able to touch simply because we have been there.

If it seems that everything is going WRONG and nothing will ever be right again... Look up because it is probably God that is bringing about a wonderful change in your life that will help you fit into HIS PLAN for you..
