Charting our History

My search for my lineage is still in the early stages. I have been lucky enough so far to find some of my uncles in Germany and we are planning a reunion for the summer of 1999.

In an effort to obtain my families birth certificates, I am searching for information about Sensburg, Ostpreußen and Schloßberg, Ostpreußen. If anyone has any information that might help please contact me.

Robert Dibowski was born between 1917 and 1921. The exact location of his birth is unknown. The only additional fact that we have about him is that he is believed to have died in Russia during WWII while serving in the Prussian military.

Robert Dibowski married Helene Sobold. The location and date is unknown. They had four children together.

Dibowski, Bernhard b. Jan. 6, 1937 in Schloßerg, Ostpreussen. He married Angela M.E. Gerdes on Mar. 31, 1962. They had two children, Barbara b. Sept. 24, 1962 and Detlef b. Sept. 5, 1963. Bernhard died On Aug. 16, 1980 in Canada.

Dibowski, Dorothea born Apr. 19, 1938 in Sensburg, Ostpreussen. She married Peter Oschmann. They had four children together, Michaela Oschmann b. Nov. 9, 1959, Birgitta G. Oschmann b. Jul. 14, 1961, Axel H. Oschmann b. Jan. 21, 1963, and Andrea J. Oschmann b. Jan. 4, 1965.

Dibowski, Eckhardt born Aug. 22, 1939 in Neubrück-Sensburg, Ospreussen. He married Erika ?. They had three children, Ralph Dibowski b. Jul. 13, 1960, Rainer Dibowski b. Jan. 6, 1963, and Dirk Dibowski b. Aug. 29, 1969.

Dibowski, Heinz born Jun 26, 1941. He married Hannelore ?. They had three children, Fred ?, Heiko Dibowski b. May 15, 1968, and Anke Dibowski b. May 27, 1970.

It is uncertain when Robert Dibowski entered the Prussian military, but we assume that it was at the outbreak of WWII. Prior to this, he is believed to have worked as a milker on a dairy farm in Schloßerg, Ostpreussen.
