      Palmer Hiram Averill was of Indian and Canadian descent.
      His father was a trapper.

      d: 2/03/1908 Palmer and Mary Louisa were married October 19, 1862 at her
      parent's home in the presence of Mr. Baker, by Rev. Able Walker, at Leicester
      in Addison County, Vermont, the county seat is Middlebury.  Palmer was a tall
      and thin man - a farmer and a trapper.

        Addison Co, Vermont d: 2/12/1899 in Blue Earth, Mn.     Her parents settled in a
        French Colony somewhere in Vermont.  It was there that Palmer met his
         bride-to-be when he visited his sister.  Mary Louisa could speak no English
        when they were married.  Palmer is said to have become annoyed whenever
        his wife and French relatives visited in French in his presence since he could

          Mary is buried in Blue Earth, Mn. beside her mother, sister Josephine and
          brother Palmer Hiram Averill, III.  Cause of death: erysipelas, pernicious
          anemia of five years duration.  No gravestone - Lot 208E.  One of her sons
          died of blood poisoning.

        Josephina and Chester Spencer resided at Delavan, Minnesota where they owned
        a restaurant.  It is said that Jose died of a broken heart.  It is not known what caused
        her grief.  Her third marriage was to a Mr. Tinker.  It is not known where the
        three husbands are buried.  Josie died of arteriosclerosis.

        Nettie is buried at Belle Passi Cemetery, Woodburn, Oregon. After her husband
        William died in 1934, Nettie moved by Greyhound Bus to Portland, Oregon with  
        Rilla Mae Chapman who was six years old.  They lived with Nettie's youngest sister
        and her husband, Bertha and Daniel Bartholomew for about two years.
        Nettie went to Oregon to work as a housekeeper and nurse for William Ellis.
        On 12/1937 Nettie married Wm. Ellis. Nettie resided in Vermont, Minnesota,
        Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, Missouri and Oregon. Nettie had several strokes and
        pneumonia as well as being crippled with arthritis. Nettie outlived three of her five
        children and suffered much emotional and physical pain, but continued to trust in her
        Savior's love.  She brought joy to many relatives and friends.    Nettie died at Salem
       Memorial Hospital from hyperstatic pneumonia at 79 years.
