~ Meditations ~
~ From the Word of God ~
(Meditations are meant to be
pondered carefully.)

"It is good to praise the LORD,
      to sing hymns to Your name, O Most High,
To proclaim Your steadfast love at daybreak,
      Your faithfulness each night ...
...You are exalted, O LORD, for all time."
(Psalms 92:2-3,9)

~ The Majesty of YHVH ~

"O LORD, our Lord,
      How majestic is Your name throughout the earth,
      You who have covered the heavens with Your splendor!
From the mouths of infants and sucklings
      You have founded strength on account of Your foes,
      to put an end to enemy and avenger.
When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
      the moon and stars that You set in place,
      what is man that You have been mindful of him,
      mortal man that You have taken note of him,
      that You have made him little less than divine,
      and adorned him with glory and majesty;
      You have made him master over Your handiwork,
      laying the world at his feet,
      sheep and oxen, all of them,
      and wild beasts too;
      the birds of the heavens, the fish of the sea,
      whatever travels the paths of the seas.
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name throughout the earth!"
(Psalms 8:1-10)

~ Who May Sojourn ~
~ In His Tent? ~

"The LORD looks down from heaven on mankind
to find a man of understanding,
a man mindful of God."
(Psalms 14:2)

"For a man’s ways are before the eyes of God;
He surveys his entire course."
(Proverbs 5:21)

"LORD, who may sojourn in Your tent.
      who may dwell on Your holy mountain?
He who lives without blame,
      who does what is right,
      and in his heart acknowledges the truth;
      whose tongue is not given to evil;
      who has never done harm to his fellow,
      or borne reproach for [his acts toward] his neighbor;
      for whom a contemptible man is abhorrent,
      but who honors those who fear the LORD;
      who stands by his oath even to his hurt.
      who has never lent money at interest,
      or accepted a bribe against the innocent..."
(Psalm 15:1-5)

For,
"...unrighteous people will have no share in the Kingdom of God..."
(1 Cor. 6:9)

      "...But you have cleansed yourselves, you have been set apart for God, you have come to be counted righteous through the power of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah and the Spirit of our God."
(1 Cor. 6:11)

~ He Shows Sinners ~
~ The Way ~

"Good and upright is the LORD;
      therefore He shows sinners the way.
He guides the lowly in the right path,
      and teaches the lowly His way."
(Psalms 25:8-9)

Yes,
"Whoever fears the LORD,
      he shall be shown what path to choose.
He shall live a happy life,
      and his children shall inherit the land..."
(Psalms 25:12-13)

For,
"The counsel of the LORD is for those who fear Him;
      to them He makes known His covenant."
(Psalms 25:14)

"O you faithful of the LORD, sing to Him,
      and praise His holy name.
For He is angry but a moment,
      and when He is pleased there is life.
One may lie down weeping at nightfall;
      but at dawn there are shouts for joy."
(Psalms 30:5-6)

For,
      "If we acknowledge our sins, then, since he is trustworthy and just, he will forgive them and purify us from all wrongdoing."
(I John 1:9)

So,
"Praise the LORD, all you nations;
extol Him, all you peoples,
for great is His steadfast love toward us;
the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.
Hallelujah."
(Psalms 117: 1-2)

"Know that the LORD singles out the faithful for Himself..."
(Psalms 4:4a)

"...You have tried us, O God,
      refining us, as one refines silver.
You have caught us in a net,
      caught us in trammels*.
You have let men ride over us;
      we have endured fire and water,
      and You have brought us through to prosperity."
(Psalms 66:10-12)
[* Trammel: Something that restricts activity, expressions, or progress; a restraint.]

"O peoples, bless our God,
      celebrate His praises;
      who has granted us life,
      and has not let our feet slip.”
(Psalms 66:8-9)

"Blessed is the LORD God, God of Israel,
      who alone does wondrous things;
Blessed is His glorious name forever;
      His glory fills the whole world.
      Amen and Amen."
(Psalms 72:18-19)

Be more concerned with
what God thinks about
you than what people
think about you.

Then Peter and the other apostles
answered and said
"We ought to obey God rather than men."
Acts 5:29

It's Jewish

When we present God’s holy law,
And arguments from scripture draw,
Objectors say, to pick a flaw,
‘It’s Jewish.’

Though at the first Jehovah blessed
And sanctified His day of rest,
The same belief is still expressed,
‘It’s Jewish.’

Though with the world this rest began,
And thence through all Scriptures ran,
And Jesus said, ‘twas made for man--
‘It’s Jewish’

Though not with Jewish rites, which passed,
But with the moral law ‘twas classed,
Which must exist while time shall last,
‘It’s Jewish.’

If from the Bible we present
The Sabbath’s meaning and intent,
This answers every argument--
‘It’s Jewish.’

Though the disciples, Luke and Paul,
Continue still this rest to call
The ‘Sabbath day,’ this answers all,
‘It’s Jewish.’

The gospel teacher’s plain expression,
That "Sin is of the law transgression,"
Seems not to make the least impression
‘It’s Jewish.’

They love the rest of man’s invention,
But if Jehovah’s day we mention,
This puts and end to all contention,
‘It’s Jewish.’

O ye who thus God’s day abuse,
Simply because ‘twas kept by Jews,
The Saviour, too, you must refuse,
He’s Jewish.

The Scriptures, then, we may expect
For the same reason you’ll reject;
For if you will but recollect,
They’re Jewish.

Thus the apostles, too, must fall;
For Andrew, Peter, James, and Paul,
Thomas, Matthew, John and all
Were Jewish

So to your helpless state resign
Yourself in wretchedness to pine;
Salvation, surely you’ll decline,
It’s Jewish.
