I'd have to say that "Final Fantasy
8" was the true insperation behind this pic.
Reading the previews so long ago, my only real knowledge of the
game was that the weapon the hero uses was part-gun, part-sword.
I immedately liked the design.
A friend snorted about it, "We got that now; it's called a
bayonet!"
I finally got a chance to buy it and play it. It's no FF7
admitingly; and I must say that I was a bit disappointed. But the
"gunblade" idea was still stuck in my head.
I thought it'd be cool if I could do a Disney cross-over with the
"gunblade" idea. But there were little "good"
images I could find on it other then the game. So, I've had to
render my own. It's not perfect, but it's far better then what I
expected.
The Simba image might raise a few eyebrows, so I must explain:
Like in every FF game, you are given a default weapon that could
be upgraded for something more powerful. The last and most
powerful weapon that the hero in FF8 could hold is the
"Lionheart". So after that, Simba just had to
make the pic.
