Please Help Us Adopt a Child from Haiti!

We always wanted to have several children, but found that infertility stood in our way.  We were able to have our daughter, Acacia, but knew that she would probably be our only birth child.  Our hearts longed for another child to care for and love.  We turned to adoption as a way to fulfill our desire for more children.

Because of a relative who was a missionary to Haiti, we began to think of adopting a child from there.  So, on April 25, 2001 we sent our application into our agency. We did not have all the funds needed to adopt, but decided that since God laid it on our hearts to do this, He would be faithful in providing what we needed to complete what we had started!  What a leap of faith this has been for us!

Some days it is scary to step out in faith like this, trusting God to fully bring us every thing we need.  It's on those days, when my faith waivers, that God is faithful to bring a word, an email, a card, or other bit of encouragement to keep me from giving up in fear.  God is faithful to complete what He has begun, and we are trusting Him to complete this.  We know His heart is to provide homes for the homeless orphans, and we are being obedient in pursuing this child of His.

Part of this faith walk is to ask others to help us with the finances, and to pray for us.  We saw the website,  "Adoption as a Mission" and asked to have this site made.  We believe as the author of that site does, that adopting a child is a mission we have been called to, and that God will use the hearts of others to help fund this mission.

We thank you for anything you are led to give.  In our homepage, I say that if just 240 willing hearts will donate just $25 each, we will have met our goal.  So far, many have responded in love, and we are closer to our goal.

We also need your prayers.  Prayer can accomplish the impossible!  Please help cover us and our future child, or children, with prayer.  Thank you very much for your faithfulness in this.
