KINGS ISLAND
We are excited to hold our 2009 event at Kings Island Resort. Following competition on Saturday, we will be going to Kings Island for a few hours. Every contestant will receive 1 free admission ticket included with pageant fees. Additional tickets can be purchased at registration for $34.00 (adults) or $29.00 (children under 48"). Additional tickets can also be purchased at the park if not purchased at registration. On Saturday, October 24th the park hours are 11:00 a.m.-1:00 a.m. Please dress warm for visit to the park. Park will also be open on Sunday October 25th from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

NEW THIS YEAR---HEARTS AND CROWNS AMBASSADOR We will offer a Hearts and Crowns Ambassador Title to every contestant. Every contestant that enters will receive a custom banner & crown. This is open to any contestant and will be double crowned. Please note, this is not required. However, if you do enter please wear your custom banner to Kings Island on Sat. This will be a great way to showcase you are a princess and part of Hearts and Crowns royalty. $35.00 (includes custom banner & crown)

VENDORS & DIRECTORS
Tables will be provided for your pageant forms & flyers. Vendors of merchandise must contact Angela @ 606-526-9058 in advance. Reservations are required. Tables will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. You can also list your information on our message board @ www.voy.com/22198/ All signs, posters, etc. must be given to national director. No signs, posters, etc will be allowed on hotel walls, doors, or elevators. Any vendor that is attending the pageant please let me know, and I will add you to our vendor's list. We do have vendor space for rent outside of the ballroom. All vendors of merchandise must call Angela @ 606-526-9058 to purchase a table, space is limited. If you are coach, photographer, or h/m vendor be sure to book a room or meeting room ahead of time to set up for your services.

Hello! This is your personal invitation to attend our 7th annual national pageant, Hearts and Crowns 2009 National. I have been involved with pageants for over 20 years, and we work hard to make this a fun event for everyone. This year's pageant is going to be bigger and better then ever before, we are excited to hold our national event at Kings Island Resort. Saturday evening following competition we will be going to the park, this will be a lot of fun. My family and I have strived to create a pageant that is Honest, Fair, & Organized. Hearts and Crowns has always awarded all cash that was stated on paperwork the day of pageant. Last year, we awarded over $25,000 in cash. We have never pro rated, and we have always awarded all of our cash and prizes. This year we will be having a Halloween Bash with special treats throughout the weekend. Also, all contestants will receive a custom crown, gift, and custom plaque. Our national crowns are beautiful! We have a great weekend planned for everyone, we hope you make plans and join us at Kings Island. We will be awarding awesome gifts, prizes, cash, custom banners, custom crowns, & much more. BEAUTY ATTIRE: Prom Dress, Sunday Best, Flower Girl Dress, Pageant Dress, Tuxedo, or any dressy outfit can be used for Beauty competition. Clothing is not scored in any event at Hearts and Crowns. We encourage contestants to wear something they are comfortable in. Clothing will not be scored in any event, please wear clothes that look best on contestant. Line-up If contestant would like a certain place in line up, get your deposit in early. We will accommodate your wishes dependent on when your entry form & paypal are received. Place in line-up will be determined by the date you enter. The earlier you enter the better chance you have of getting your request.

Deposit A deposit must be received before October 11, 2009 in the amount of $200.00 to enter pageant. Any deposits received after this date will have a late fee added of $50.00. The host hotel is Kings Island Resort which is conveniently located in Mason, Ohio. The hotel is located close to several restaurants & department stores and also has indoor lounge. Hotel has indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, whirlpool, Fitness Center (24 Hour Access), Sand Volleyball, Tennis and Basketball, Playground, Tetherball, Horseshoes, Game Rooms, & Corn Hole. Free Shuttle to Kings Island for any quest. Hotel has a restaurant on location. Hotel is approximately 30 minutes from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport. The group rate is $89.00 + tax per night will be valid until September 25th. PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATION EARLY AND MENTION YOU ARE WITH HEARTS AND CROWNS TO RECEIVE DISCOUNTED RATE. Photographer & Video Video cameras or flash cameras will not be permitted in the ballroom at anytime. All winners must have photos made at end of pageant before cash awards are received. La Belle Fille will be attending our national this year for production. They will be doing a laser light show and much more. DVD is included in Registration fee for all contestants. $5.00 shipping fee will be added at registration. Please allow 6-10 weeks for DVD to be shipped.

We will feature a program book which will be played during the pageant and also will be featured on all contestant DVD'S. We will accept photos until October 11th. Contestant Good Luck Virtual Ads: Must be turned in by October 11th. Ads will be played throughout the pageant on TV's located in ballroom, they will also be put on all the DVD's from Hearts and Crowns National. This is a great pageant memory! Ads are $35.00 each, if ad is provided. Ads are $40.00 if we need to make an ad for you. Online banners make great video ads. Virtual ads must be paid before pageant. Gift Exchange
Every contestant must bring THREE $5.00-$8.00 wrapped gifts to exchange. Gifts will be for returning royalty, supreme winner in supreme group, & one contestant in each age division. Gifts must be turned in at registration. Please make sure gifts are wrapped or in a gift bag with contestants name and age. We will also provide gifts for all contestants and royalty! For our 2008 national, we spent over $3,000 on gifts for all contestants. Gifts included: digital cameras, luggage, Hannah Montana Stages, Polly Pocket Race Car Sets, and much more.

Door Admission
Admission badges may be purchased at registration for $35.00 each. Badges for children ages 7-12 are $15.00 each. Children 0-6 (FREE). Everyone including vendors must have a badge to enter ballroom. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Door Badges will be checked when entering ballroom. Director has the right to refuse entry of any contestant or admission to the ballroom of any parent/guest, as this is a private function.

Halloween Door Decorating Contest(FREE) Decorate outside of your room door, with any Halloween or Fall theme. Contest will not be judged until after 11:30 p.m. on Saturday 10-24-09. If you plan on entering this please let director know at registration. Do not use nails, tacks, or anything that will cause damage do the door. All decorations must be removed before you depart hotel, make sure hotel doors are not damaged. Two overall winners will receive a gift & cash prize. Three alternates will receive a nice gift. Director must know room number to be included in judging. This is free so everyone should try it!!!

Halloween Walk of Adventure(FREE) Following competition all contestants will get to go Trick or Treating around hotel. All rooms will have a special Halloween sign on door. Please bring candy if you would like to participate. Our contestants had a lot of fun doing this last year!

Poster Contest(FREE) Make your own original poster and bring to registration. Poster can consist of photos, drawings, or artwork. Be creative and make this fun!!! Winners will receive a nice gift! Posters will be on display during pageant & winners announced at crowning.

Best Awards (Per Division) (Included in Registration Fee) There will be one winner in each division in the following categories: Best Attire, Most Beautiful, Personality, Smile, Prettiest Eyes, & Prettiest Hair. Winners will receive a national award.

Time Limit (ON STAGE EVENTS, DOES NOT INCLUDE TALENT) Each contestant will have a 1 minute time limit on stage. Modeling is not scored.

OPTIONAL EVENTS

INTERVIEW $55.00 (Can be used if highest optional event) Interview will be a close-up appraisal. Attire will be white skirt or pants with Hearts and Crowns Tee shirt. No decorating of Tee shirt. Questions or answers will not be scored during interview. Judges will be judging Facial Beauty Only!

Outfit of Choice events can choose between: SWIM WEAR, CASUAL WEAR, DENIM WEAR, THEME WEAR, OR COSTUME. You are allowed to enter TWO outfits of choice. We are only allowing two outfit of choice this year, in order to have time to visit Kings Island on Saturday evening. Please No Pro-Am, keep modeling simple & remember we have a 1 minute time limit, modeling is not scored. Each outfit of choice is $55.00. A winner in each division will receive a national award. Outfit of Choice will be scored only on Facial Beauty/Personality

Crowning will be held Sunday 10-25-09. Contestants must wear Hearts and Crowns Tee shirt with white tennis skirt, white shorts, white pants, or white skirt with white socks, & white shoes. Photos will be taken for future Hearts and Crowns Promotions. Please look nice for photos. Cash prizes and photos will not be given out until all photos are made!

General Information:
Hearts and Crowns is looking for a beautiful face. We run a fair and honest system, and all contestants will compete on an equal basis. Birth certificate may be needed if age is questioned and is required if contestant is using fallback. No refunds will be given on deposits, deposits are not transferable to another pageant or contestant. If you aren't able to attend Hearts and Crowns, Deposit will NOT be refunded. Cash or money order for all pageant fees. Checks will not be accepted. All contestants will model in T-formation(3 x's in back, 1 in front). Each contestant will have 1 minute time limit on stage. No refunds will be given, deposits are not transferable. Anyone showing poor sportsmanship will be disqualified and ask to leave without a refund or awards. Bashing or gossip will not be tolerated. NO EXCEPTIONS! This pageant system expects parents and contestants to use courtesy toward each other and to the staff of the pageant at all times. Judges decisions are Final. Prizes can and will be reduced if not enough contestants enter the pageant. All cash prizes listed are based on 50 or more contestants. We don't see this as an issue, we have never pro-rated with any of our national events. Score sheets will not be given out at the pageant. You can call 2-3 weeks following pageant and receive scores and comments. Judges decisions are FINAL and are of their opinion of that day. First registered will be last out or your choice. All contestants must be ready to compete on time. All winners must have group and individual photos made before cash awards are received. Savings Bonds may be paid cash equivalent of the bond the day of crowning and bonds can be reduced based on number of contestants. Cash prizes can be awarded in the form of a check payable to the contestant. Do not ask who or how many are in a group. This information will not be given out. This information changes and we don't want to give you inaccurate information. Discounts may not be combined, however you may choose the highest discount you are entitled to. If you are staying at our host hotel please conduct yourselves in the proper manner. Hearts and Crowns Pageant Productions would like to maintain a good standing with host hotel. Release: I hereby understand that Hearts and Crowns Pageant Productions, Angela Smith, Workers, Judges, and Kings Island Resort is not responsible for any accident, illness, injury, or stolen/loss of items that may occur before, during, or after the pageant. I agree to act in a positive manner at all Hearts and Crowns activities and will maintain good sportsmanship at all times & obey all pageant rules. The pageant is not responsible for acts of God including fire, wind, hail, or any other weather related matter.If the pageant must be canceled due to weather related matters it will be re-scheduled as soon as possible. I also agree that I will be responsible for any money owed to the pageant and its director. I also agree that the judge's decisions are final and bad conduct will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification with awards taken away without a refund. No Refunds will be given or deposits returned once deposit is received! No refunds will be given on deposits, deposits are not transferable to another pageant or contestant. If you aren't able to attend Hearts and Crowns, Deposit will NOT be refunded. I also understand that awards can be reduced based on number of entries. All age divisions can be combined if less than four contestants participate per age division. Supreme age divisions can be combined if 7 or less contestants are in a supreme group. Returned checks will be charged $55.00! If I am found to have given false information on my Novice status, contestant information, or caught bashing via Internet or email, I will return all awards to the director and/or paying all court fees/attorney fees should legal action be necessary for slander. By signing this form I relinquish all rights to file claim against Hearts and Crowns Productions, Angela Smith, Kings Island Resort, or pageant workers. I also understand that all prizes or awards can be increased or decreased depending on number of contestants including cash awards. All awards are based on 50 or more contestants. I also give my permission for Hearts and Crowns, & Angela Smith to use any photos or videos for publicity on website and paperwork. I have read and fully understand all of the pageant rules listed above.
