Heathen Hearth is a Vanatru kindred in the Galveston Bay area. Vanatru is a native, pre-Christian religion of the Northern European peoples. Vanatruar share a defining personal loyalty to the Vanir, ancient gods and goddesses of the northlands, including Freyr, Freyja, Njorðr and others; a deep respect for our Nordic religious, cultural and historical heritage; and a strong determination to practice the moral principles followed by our noble ancestors, including Courage, Truth, Honor, Loyalty, Discipline, Hospitality, Work, Self-reliance, and Steadfastness.
