Hodgdon Hawks Softball Update |
May 21,2000 Hodgdon Hawks vs.Houlton Shiretowners It was a terrible first inning for the Hawks. Shanna Mc Gary walked in five runs, and there were many outfield errors. The Hawks didn't liven up until the third inning, when Heather Martin got a single, followed by Sara Oliver with a walk, and Erin Foster with two run Triple. Houlton's continuous solid defense was almost unbearable for the Hawks to get out of the first inning 12 run jump by the Shires. Final score: Houlton 24, Hodgdon 11 I don't know why, but in every sport, the girls team loses to Houlton. We are going to beat them next year. |
May 24, 2000 Hodgdon vs. Central Aroostook This was a much better performance by the Hawks of Hodgdon. It was only a five inning game, but it seemed to last forever. But one sad thing happened in the bottom of the fourth inning. The "valiant" Heather Martin was stealing third base and hit the bag really hard. She was rushed to the hospital, but thankfully, no permanent damage was done. She is out of remission already and played in the schrimmage held on May 30. The final score was: Hodgdon Hawks- 33, Central Aroostook Panthers- 3 |
