November 2001 |
When we last left our heroine, she had just been laid off from her Seattle based tech company, taken the time to build a website, and was on her way to the Land of the Not Quite Right (aka Seoul, South Korea).... What has happened in the intervening months, you might ask? Never fear - she's back to tell her tales! The last several months have been interesting indeed. In August, I went home for my 10 year class reunion. It was fun to reconnect with old friends, but I'm hoping that my 20 year reunion proves to be more laid back than the 10 year reunion. The rumors about 10 year reunions being silly....they're true!! In September, I went to Korea for a few weeks. While it was a strange time to be there (I arrived the weekend before Sept. 11th), I had a great time reconnecting with old friends and met some new, wonderful people. I definately had a sense of deja vu wandering around my old haunts and found that things change, but they really do same the same. I also realized that I will always love a good Soju Kettle, but try though I might, I cannot make one - just ask Lori - I think she's still mad that I used up all of the Vodka in a poor attempt at a Kettle one Friday night! (Ha ;) ) I do have a few pictures from Korea to share. As always, I'm still plugging along with Weight Watchers and have lost over 50 pounds (see those Korea/Fall 2001 pics)- it's amost embarrasing to look at those before shots now! October and November have been spent talking myself into writing a resume and spending time with Lori, who did make it home with me. I've now had enough day time TV to last a lifetime and I'm hot in pursuit of a job!!!! I need to work!!! (Can you believe I'm actually saying that?!?!) |
