| I was in bad shape when my mommy rescued me almost 2 years ago. Lucky for me she heard me outside her second story apartment, even though the windows were closed. I could not breathe- i was coughing and gasping, sneezing and gagging outside in the cold October night. My mommy came down to try and help me; she picked me up and gave me love before rushing me to the doctors. You see, my last family decided they did not want me anymore, so they tried to strangle me before dumping me in the woods behind my mommy's apartment complex. I survived, but several of the cartilage rings that hold my throat open were crushed when they choked me. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I am on medication every day, and have been on several different prescriptions over the past 2 years. It helps a little, but without surgery, the doctor says the muscles in my thoat near the damaged cartilage will continue to atrophy until my trachea collapses entirely. I don't want to die. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| But i loooove to snuggle with my mommy, brother and sister! I give my mommy hugs every time she picks me up, wrapping my little paws around her neck and rubbing my face against hers and i just purr, and purr and purr! She does not mind that my purrs sound a little funny because i am sick- she even tells me i have a beautiful singing voice, even though i am so hoarse! I also love to play with my brother and sister, but i get tired very quickly and have a hard time catching my breath. Sometimes it makes me cough when i run around too much. But i am only three years old and have so much life in me- i can't help but attack those killer socks and twist-ties!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sometimes my mommy cries because she cannot afford the surgery that could save my life. I know she loves me very much and wants the best for me so that i can live a long, full life. But the surgery would cost almost $2,500, and we are struggling as it is. Will you help us? Will you help me get the surgery i need to be well? Will you please help my mommy help me?
