While in the Twin Cities over the holidays, I had a chance to watch some of the best girl's high school hockey players compete in the 2003 Schwan's Cup at the U of M.  I was there with the parents and aunt and uncle of one of the CEC players, Michelle Maunu, #16.

The game I saw was CEC versus Wayzata in the semi-finals of the tournament.  CEC fell behind but rallied from a 3-goal deficit in the third period to tie the game.  No one scored during the OT - so it went to a best of 3 shoot-out.  CEC won the game and moved onto the finals, where they defeated Benilde/St. Margaret's to win the Schwan's Cup.

Lots of action in the first couple of periods, but no goals for CEC.  According to one fan in the stands, CEC was mixing up the regular lines too much.
OK gals, let's get back to basics and our usual lines - and win this thing!
So in the 3rd CEC tied the score and took the game into overtime.
From the OT faceoff (above) to the final horn, no one scored - so the game went into a shoot out - that was won by CEC.
Congrats on the win - and now the finals and hopefully winning the 2003 Schwan's Cup (which CEC eventually won).
