Wild vs. Colorado Avs
2003 Stanley Cup Western Conf. Quarterfinals
April 14, 2003 - Game #3
Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul
3-0 Loss
In just its third year, the MN Wild have qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  The Wild were #6 and the Colorado Avalanche were #3 in the Western Conference.  MN won game 1 in Denver, Avs took game 2, and tonight was the first NHL playoff game in Minnesota since 1992.  I could only get two tickets to the game - so cousin Kristi joined me again.  We wore our Wild jerseys and support pins for my hockey buddy Jesse Sorkness, a Marine serving in Gulf War II.  We were two of a record-setting 19,354 fans in attendance.  The crowd was really into it from the warm ups to the final horn.  The electricity in the X was immeasurable!  What a thrilling night!

Lots of action on the ice.
Fight!  Fight!
Roli made some incredible saves throughout the game, but in the end the Wild were unable to score any goals on Patrick Roy - as the Avs beat the Wild 3-0..
