PLEASE COME WITH ME
God saw that he was getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around him
And said, "Please come with me".
With pain-filled hearts and tear filled eyes
We watched him fade away.
Although we dearly loved him
We could not make him stay.

Lord, keep your arms around him
And in your loving care.
Make up for all he suffered
And all that seemed unfair.
A golden heart stopped beating,
His little hands are now at rest,
Yes our hearts are broken
But God only takes the best.

My son's name is Brian Pettigrew and he developed acute lymphocytic leukemia at the age of 3.  He was a patient of St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee for15 years.  He had several remissions and relapses over those 15 years and received a bone marrow transplant in 1996.  He relapsed again in March of 1998 with Aml (All and Myelodysplasic Syndrome.)  He lived for 8 more months with no treatments and died in November of 1998.

We miss you Brian and you will always be in our hearts.

A special thanks to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis.
They spared no expense to provide the very best care for Brian (and children all over the world.)
