Step 1. The first thing. that we must realize is that
we cannot win a soul by ourselves.
We must have the help of the Holy Sprit.
You must remember that the Spirit of the Lord
knows the persons heart that you are witnessing
to, much better than you do.
You can talk to a person all day about the Lord,
but unless the Holy Spirit is there to convict the
persons heart, your witnessing will be in vain.

This takes us to step 2.

Step 2. Prayer...
Before you begin to witness you must pray.
You need help outside of yourself.
Start by asking the holy Spirit to forgive you
of any sin known and unknown that may hinder
you from becoming a effectivce witness.
You must remember that when you start
dealing with a persons soul,
You have just started a war between you and the
devil. This is nothing to be afraid of,
because when you have the Holy spirit on your
side you have all power.
But the devil is not going to let this
persons soul go without a fight.
This is why prayer must be a vital
part of your witnessing.
I know that there are times when you
may run into a situation where you wont have time
to sit and talk to the Lord, in this case
all you need to do is say in your mind,
Holy spirit I need your help.
If you call on him He will help you.
He will bring things to your mind that
you may have studied in the Bible long ago.

Matthew 10:19 says,
But when they deliver you up, take no thought
how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given
you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

Step 3. Know the Word.

You must know the scriptures.
2nd Timothy 2:15 says,
Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.

You must know the Word of God. The are some
people that have never been born again that know
the Bible better than we do.

You must be able to show them why you believe
what you believe.

1st peter 3:15 says,
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be
ready always to give an answer to every man that
asketh you a reason of the hope that is in
with meekness and fear:

We must always be able to give that person
a reason to believe what we believe.

And we have to be able to prove it.
Because some sinners are looking for a reason
why they shouldn't give their lives to Christ.
They are quick to say show me where
it says that in the Bible.
If you are new in the Lord,
The part that you have learned be able to back up
just that little. The holy spirit will help you
the rest of the way.
