Spiritual Warfare
Lesson #18
The breastplate of Righteousness
Who am I in Christ?

Paul continues to tell us what is the
next piece of Spiritual weaponry.
He says in Ephesians 6:14
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness.
Righteousness is a weapon, it is our breastplate.
You may ask How could righteousness be a weapon?
We know that it is a weapon because Paul calls it a weapon in the six chapter of Ephesians.
The breastplate was the most beautiful, shiniest, most glamorous peace of weaponry that the Roman Soldier possessed.
When you walked up to a Roman soldier the first thing that you would notice was his breastplate.
The Holy Spirit tells us that our breastplate is to protect us.
The devil wants to play games with your minds
by telling us that we are not righteous.
In a way he is right,
In ourselves we are not righteous, but our righteousness can be found in our wonderful Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Phillipians 3:19 says

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of
Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.

The devil will lie to you and tell you that you are of no value of God,
But really he is the one that is of no value to God.
The word devil is taken from the Greek word diabolos, and it describes
One who strikes again and again until he finally penetrates the mind.
The devil looks for weak minded Christians who are brain washed into thinking that they are of no value to God. They are easy prey.

This is why you must have your
breastplate firmly in place.
Don't let the devil tell you who you are in Christ,
You tell him who you are in Christ.
People who don't know that they have been made he righteous, By what Jesus did on the Cross will simply fall for these lies of satan.
Don't let him lie to you!!! If God said that you are righteous in His sight.
Then His word is the final authority.

Jesus has all power in his hands and He has given us this same authority.
To defeat the enemy of our souls.
You have that Power and you have been made righteous in the sight of God, So throw your shoulders back and stand firm.
Remember the world is looking at us.

It means that we must live right.

Just remember that our Righteousness cannot be obtained on our own.
It can only be accomplished through our faith in Jesus Christ.
