The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department

General Information



The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department is the public safety agency of the Town of Hebron. Organized in May of 1935, the department provides emergency fire, rescue, and ambulance services to the 10,000 people residing in this central-eastern Connecticut town.

The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department operates out of three stations throughout town. Company 110 in Hebron center, Company 2 in the Amston Lake section of town and Company 3 on North Street near Gay City State Park.

Company 110, located at 44 Main Street in downtown Hebron houses an engine-tanker, engine pump, two special services units, a heavy rescue unit which will be replaced in the Spring of 2005, an All Terrain light rescue vehicle, a Fire-Police vehicle and Rescue 510, Hebron's only ambulance.

Company 210, which is currently being replaced is located in the Amston Lake section of town. This company houses an engine-tank, a squad unit and the department's boat and ice rescue sled.

Finally, Company 310, located on North Street near Gay City State Park, houses an engine-tanker, a squad and a brush-fire unit.

The two Squad vehicles at Companies 210 and 310 provide all basic equipment to operate a small scale incident. Both trucks were purchased at the same time and are identical, containing a pump, generator, hose and suction lines, ladders, and emergency medical equipment including an AED. The crew cabs of these trucks can hold three personel and a driver.
