Duo looked around him one last time and removed his cap before opening the door and stepping into the small apartment.
The lights were all off and Duo found that odd. It was too quiet, all he heard was the rhythmic breathing of someone.
He walked into the other room and quickly flipped on the light switch.
He was surprised to see only a sleeping Releena in the bed and one of the empty table chairs at her side. There was no sign of someone else.
Duo angrily tore off his jacket and threw it on the floor. "Man, Heero! You piss me off like hell!" Duo absentmindedly shouted.
His hands flew to cover his mouth as Releena began to stir. Shhhh… "Where could he have gone? Why would he leave her here alone?" Duo whispered to himself.
"…uh…Heero…?"
Duo's eyes darted to the now awake Releena who was rubbing at her eyes sleepily.
"Uh, no Mrs. Releena…" Duo said.
Releena looked at Duo and then scanned the room with her eyes. "Where is Heero?" she asked.
"You mean you don't know?"
Releena shook her head.
"I just got back and he was gone… damn him!" Duo shouted.
Releena flinched. "Please don't yell like that, I have a headache… Heero did enough yelling earlier…" Releena stated rubbing her left temple.
"Oh, I'm sorry! Do you need some headache pills or something?" Duo asked. "I can go back to the store and get some." He suggested.
"No!" Releena quickly protested. "I mean, no thank you Duo. I'm fine. Just don't leave, ok? Well at least till Heero get's back…"
Duo shrugged and turned around. "Alright then…"
Duo was about to open the fridge when a blue note that hadn't been there before caught his attention. He ripped it off and read it.
- "You imbecile…
"Hey, Heero left me a note!" Duo shouted smacking the paper. Releena just looked at him.
"… Take care to note that Releena is sick. You ate all the food,
so I went out to get some.
brb ASAP. Take care of her…

Duo smiled sheepishly. "Geesh, sorry about that Releena. Heero said he'd be back, that he went out to get some food for you…" Duo stopped himself and dropped the note, running across the room and slamming into the dresser. "Heero would never leave you alone to go and get some food!" he stated opening all the draws. "Nothing… ah I knew it!" Duo exclaimed, slamming the draws shut.
"What's going on…?" Releena asked trying to see what Duo was looking for.
"His gun and ammo… they are all gone." Duo stated.
"Does that mean…"
"Heero went out to take care of some business and I have a funny feeling of what kind…" Duo stated. "How long have you been asleep?" he asked Releena suddenly.
"A couple of minutes…" Releena said, a bit confused.
Duo looked down at his watch: 4:09 am. He shouldn't have gone far... Duo reached back for his cap and jacket. "Be right back princess. Gotta stop Heero before he does something stupid…"
"No, please don't leave me alone…!" Releena shouted.
Duo accidently stepped on the note Heero left. He took his foot off to reveal part of the message: "…Take care to note that Releena is sick… Take care of her…"
Duo groaned in frustration and threw his stuff on the table.
"So how ya feeling Mrs. Releena…" Duo asked flatly.
Releena just looked at him with a blank expression. Even Heero was a better host.
