(Continuing Saga II, Princess Heidi 9/15/00) Returning on the wing, Princess Heidi comes to rest in a meadow of clover and sits herself on a shaded mushroom. The journey has been long and she rejoices at the beauty of the flowers and freshness of the cleansing air. Her powers are restored as she drinks in the nector of the clover field. With a wave of her wand the glimmer of replenished energy has returned. Doing good things for others takes it's toll, but a moment of silent reflections restores all. A hushness comes from the forest... The birds and buzzing of wings have halted... Princess Heidi turns her elfin ears towards the direction of stillness. Sounds from afar have instilled upon her the message of a troubling peril falling upon others. Her magic is needed. With a buzz, her wings beat as she quickly gains altitude to observe the commotion coming from afar. Her magical wand in hand she approaches cautiously alert for whatever may be ahead....
(The Ogre Knows, Clubdub da Ogre 9/16/00) CLUBDUB BE DUMB...BUT NOT DAT DUMB! ME KNO ROCKS NO FLY....BY SELVES! MUST BE THROWN...THEY DO! sniff sniff sniff MMMM.. GETTING CLOSER...sniff sniff sniff sniff REAL CLOSE NOW... sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff MMMMM...TREE SMELL LIKE FE...NO LOOK LIKE FE...MMMMM....sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff TREE HARD? knock knock knock sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff MMMMM....TREE HARD LIKE TREE...TREE NOT FE...SMELL LIKE FE...!?! TASTE LIKE TREE? chomp chomp chomp sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff sniff MMMMM.....TREE TASTE LIKE TREE...TREE NOT FE...SMELL LIKE FE... And then there was silence. Vina and Tember, frozen with fear after Tember accidentally knocked ol' Clubdub on the noggin' with the stone, were trying to get back on their feet after being knocked over when Clubdub began beating on the tree to see if "TREE HARD?" Somehow, they were transfixed by Clubdub's simpleton mind attempting to be analytical. When the silence came, they snapped out of their reverie and remembered the seriousness of their situation. They waited in baited breath (literally) as the silence began to fill the tiny cavity they were occupying. Tember, beginnnig to glow afire at the whole situation, took one determined step towards the opening when in rushed a very LARGE nose!!! SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF And then there was silence once a-more. The nose, however, remained...Unbeknownst to Vina and Tember, Clubdub was actually scratching his head - he seems to think that the massaging of the scalp stimulates his brain into actually thinking, as it used all-too-seldom... You have to understand, reader extraordinare, that alot of odors were rapidly barging their way through Clubdub's nostrils and straight into his brain - almost causing a system overload! His lethargic grey matter was trying to sort through them to see if any matched the smell of the fe. This was taking quite a good bit of time. And so, what happens next? What do Vina and Tember do in the 'face' of a very large probiscus? (there's that word again!) Do they find a way to escape or are they simply inhaled, end of story? We shall see....
(The Search Begins, The Sable One 9/16/00) "Groon?" "Groon? Where are you?" Nothing. "GROON?!" "GROON! WHERE IN THE NINE HELLS ARE YOU?!" Nothing more. Although there were a few really cool echoes...(sigh)
(The Ogre Knows, Princess Heidi 9/18/00) "Now where has the sounds gone?" As Princess Heidi continues above the tree tops searching. "I feel a strong presence of mental anguish ahead" Something or someone is filled with anxiety over something...A little further, still cautious... gliding on still wings to lessen the chance of sounds being heard..."What's this" A rather large and grotesque figure appears to be sprawled on the ground with it's face pressed snugly against the base of a rather old and tangled snag of a tree. Circling above, then to glide to a lofty perch high above and down wind to the nasty beast, Princess Heidi awaits to discover the situation unfolding before her eyes. In silence she gazes below...
(Lovely Jubbley.. the continuing of a saga, Vina 9/18/00) Princess Heidi, who came to rest high on a protective perch that gave her a good view of the ogre, knew something was amiss. Why was this enormous beast poking his large probiscus into such a tiny hole? "ahh" she reasons, "The ogres of this wood are not the brightest of the otherkin after all." Suddenly with a yelp and a cry, Clubdub sqinted his eyes and clutched his nose. RAAAHHHHRRRR CLUBDUB HUUUUURRRTTT!!! "Silly ogres, they never learn!", said vina as she spit the tiny bit of red ogre groovey out of her mouth. Grabbing Tember by the hand the two small fae darted out of their hidey hole and soared high above the once again stamping, insulted, slightly wounded Clubdub. "Oh, the poor beast!" sighed vina. "Poor beast?!! You be the one that nipped him with ye choppers!" "Yes, and ye'd think once t'would be enough! Did ye want me to let him snort us up his smell hole?" Tember and Vina laughed with mischievous faerie delight. The two knew that they had narrowly made it from the hidey hole, but now that that was past, it was time for old tricks. In fact they were feeling a might full of themselves, so pleased for having outwitted, er outchomped this ogre, they became very involved in plotting and planning their next step on the path to Boubliwae. As the grumbling of the unhappy ogre grew faint a new sound came to their wee ears. Laughter of the fae. It is an unmistakeable sound to those lucky enough to hear it, and Tember and Vina searched the treelimbs wildly for the source of the raucous. Above the jubbly, very near to the tree that had almost been the last for poor Vina and Tember, was a beautiful faerie that neither of the two had seen before. Was she laughing at Clubdub, still shaking his fist at the two skybound faeries or was she laughing at the two skybound faeries? Tis not oft an easy chore to tell. As Princess Heidi realized the creature in need of her help in the forest could certainly not be the wailing Clubdub and that in fact the two trapped faeries had freed themselves, she realizes another thing, six eyes all upon her, staring with much wonderment....
(Lovely Jubbley..the continuing, Princess Heidi 9/19/00)Princess Heidi had no sooner lit upon a lofty perch, after spying the grotesque figure of an ogre sprawled upon the forest floor, when all of a sudden "RAAAAHHHHRRRRR CLUBDUB HUUURRRTTT!!" The pitiful beast clutching his nose in anguished agony, pulled away from the tree falling back upon his bulbous rearend. In a flash, two tiny faeries emerged from the hallow tree and flitted past the beast on their humming wings. Realizing the humor of a dangerous situation gone well, Princess Heidi could not contain herself any longer. The alarmed and ready for battle emotions gave way to the joy of seeing the survival of her kindred Fae, once again triumphing against the dangers of the ever present ogres of the forest. With tear in her eyes, she waves to them to join her on the perch, safely above the exasperated Clubdub watching the ascent of the freed fae. Vina and Temper cautiously appraoched Princess Heidi not sure if perchance a trickster was spinning her web and drawing them into her trap. But as they approached, they could see a warmth and sincerity upon her face and somehow knew that this particular faerie was not like the tricksters that were so common among Fae. But a guardian Faerie, a rare and magical old soul in a young beautiful package adorned in a sheer and flowing blue gown with a tiera of diamonds upon her head. She held a crystal wand that glowed a soft blue aura upon the star shaped tip. As they lit upon the branch she offered to share, they were intoxicated by her smile. "Hello, little ones, I am Princess Heidi from the highlands" "Are you alright?"...Below Clubdub looked about for something to throw at the three tiny winged cratures he wanted so much to "squeeky sqeek"...
The search... The Sable One 9/20/00 The Sable One sits upon a stone and broods.....He is contemplating the whereabouts of Groon and, more importantly, the ensuing consequences of the surreptitious mischief that he is usually about....Think, think, think.....
(We be Faeries Three, Tember 9/20/00) Vina and Tember Smiled back at the lovely faerie beside them. Vina introduces herself and gestures to Tember, introducing her, as well, but Tember is busy trying to balance her sparkling acorns on top of her head to similate her own lovely crown. "I wanna be a princess, too!", whines Tember feeling pangs of jealousy for Princess Heidi's ornament which makes her leafy head gear look rather dull - nothing special indeed. "Tember!" Vina scolds, "We must attend to bigger problems than which of the three of us sports the loveliest treasures. That vile ogre is sure to out-brawn us sooner or later." "Then let us away to safer grounds and be rid of the treacherous beast for good." Tember comes to her senses. "Princess Heidi, does that fanciful wand of yours hold any brand of glamour powerful enough to out-wit a huge mongrel doofus?" With a sparkle in her eye Princess Heidi answers not with words but with a magestic wave of her wand and transforms all three fae into delicate dragon flies. They swoop down upon the ogre to mess with his shrivelled up brain for a few moments. The snargled mess of tangled threads which one can barely call hair is only small obstacle for the faeries who are quite skilled in aero-gymnastics. Vina, Tember and Princess Heidi are so delighted with their cleaver feats of mockery that they forget that their tinkle bell giggles can be heard - very close to Clubdubs' tremendous ears. OOOOOO-BLASTED DANG NASTY FLEAS IN HEAD SMOOSH NASTY FLEAS WAIT FLEAS NO TINKLE TINKLE CLUBDUB DUMB BUT NOT THAT DUMB CLUBDUB KNOWS FLEAS NO TINKLE FLEAS BZZZZZZZZZ WAIT NO FLEAS FLIES FLIES NO TINKLE EITHER FAERIE TINKLE FAERIES IN CLUBDUB BRAIN HOW GET FAERIES OUT OF BRAIN?? Clubdub rolls his big fat body all around the ground and then bangs his head over and over on the gnarly tree to get the faeries out of his head. But while Clubdub is busy giving himself a big noggin ache, our brave little faeries fly away up over the bushes anbd trees and land safely on a mossy stone a mile or three away from the wretched ogre. With a soft pop the three change back into their original faerie forms no worse for the wear. But where are they? How far off the path to Boubliwae have they gotten themselves? Does anything look familiar enough to guide them properly?
