Mary soon showed interest in photography, following her mother's footsteps, and pretty soon had one of her portraits shown in the National Portrait Gallery, in London. When Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie had a baby, Leo, in 1999, Mary was chosen to be the only photographer allowed to take pictures of the baby. Mary also shot the inner pictures for Chrissie Hynde & The Pretenders 1999 album, "Viva El Amor", finishing the incomplete work of Linda, who had shot the cover picture of Chrissie with her fist up just a few weeks before her death in April 1998. Nowadays Mary is a well-respected photographer, having shown her work in several exhibitions and displays around Europe and America.
On Saturday, September 26, 1998, at the small 12th Century parish church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Peasmarsh, East Sussex, Mary got married to television producer Alistair Donald, her partner of three years. Mary's sisters Stella, who also designed her beautiful pink wedding dress, and Heather, were bridesmaids.
On Saturday, April 3, 1999, Mary gave birth to a seven pound baby boy, named Arthur Alistair McCartney Donald. Mary is currently expecting her second child by husband Alistair, to be born later this year.

* When Mary turned 21, Paul and Linda hosted a birthday party in a marquee in the grounds of their farm near Rye in Sussex. Mary arrived as Cleopatra, and Paul and Linda dressed in Chinese outfits. George Martin attended the party as Sir Thomas More, and the music was provided by the soul band Soul Provider.
* Mary is ambidextrous, which means, she can write well both with left and right hands.
* Mary works at MPL Offices as Paul's assistant. She toured the world with her parents in 1993 as Linda's private assistant.
* In July 2002, Mary was cowardly attacked by muggers while she left her offices in London. She was beaten and had her jewelry ripped off, including diamond earrings and her engagement ring. Later she was taken to a hospital for precautionary checks on her unborn baby.
