We Got Married
March 12, 1969: Linda Louise Eastman gets married to James Paul McCartney at the Marylebone Registry Office.  Paul was at the recording studio while Linda took care of the paperwork. The night before, he had managed to find a jeweller who'd just closed his shop, but would open it up so that Paul could buy a wedding ring for 12 pounds.
It was a cold rainy day, with Paul dressed in a gary suit and yellow tie and Linda in a pale yellow coat over a beige dress. The couple (and Heather) entered the registry office through the back door.
Michael McCartney was the best man and arrived one hour late due to his train broke down on the way from Birmingham. The registrar was Mr. Joseph Jevans, who, years later in 1981, would marry Ringo Starr to Barbara Bach at the same room. When they leave the offices, Paul and Linda are greeted by hundreds of screaming fans. Paul grabs hold of Linda and screams "She's with me!", while Heather is carried to the car by a policeman.
The newlyweds then go home to meet the press, not after stopping by St. John's Wood Church to receive a blessing by the local vicar, Reverend Noel Perry-Gore.
Later that day, the McCartneys had a wedding bash at the Savoy Hotel, London.
