This is one of the greatest films i have ever seen in my life. After seeing this film once i became fascinated and mildly obsessed with it. After many months, possibly getting close to a year, i finally got a copy of this film on VHS, it's only taken around 3 years to get a UK release and even then i had to order it off the interent! But who cares i have it and thats all that matters. Anyways this is, as i've already said, a great film, the basic storyline is this: The film is based in the small Swedish town of Amal. Agnes, who has just had her sixteenth birthday is not a happy kiddywink, she's in love with Elin the most popular girl in school. But Elin doesn't even notice Agnes until a bizarre twist of fate brings Elin to Agnes's party, this later leads to a bizzare group of events which climax to and even bizarer ending. One could say this is a bizare film and you'd be right but it's a loveable film, everyone who i've taken to see it has fallen in love with the film almost as much as i have! This is not your typical gay movie, nor is it your usual teenage angst movie. This film covers alot of aspects of teenage life and the times we live in. It's only an hour and 29mins long and the time goes so quickly, for me anyway, i was captivated from the moment the film began to the end of the credits! Two of the times i saw this film was with only a day seperating the two viewings and the film still held my attention even though i knew what was coming. Ultimately the film is about the development of Agnes and Elins relationship but there is alot more to the movie than just that. There is plenty in this film for any teenager to relate to, it'll hit a spot with everyone. This is a film about growning up and finding the courage to be truthful with yourself about who you are. The soundtrack kicks ass with good old classics like 'i want to know what love is' by Forgiener and more up to date pop stuff like 'show me love' by Robyn (its impossible to get this catchy song out your head and one must dance to it when it plays over the credits, tis a tradition now). The film stars two young acteresses, Rebecca Lijeberg who plays Agnes and Alexandra Dahlstrom who plays Elin (i think i have spelt their names correctly, i know there are variations in the spelling, translation etc. and there are those dots and things above certain letters which i don't know how to do). Cos i love this film sooooo much i've done a second page on it, so there are even more piccies and a more indepth look at the film, so if you haven't seen it and don't want to know anything that'll ruin your little cinematic experience don't got to the second page. If you get the chance to see this film go GO see it, you'll love it! Now fly my pretties FLY!!!! |
