Stop Raynham Trash Station

HelpRaynham needs YOUR help. The appeals process has been long and drawn out legal fees have just about hit $10,000.00 a small part of which was paid by a grant; donations from our neighbors have also been received and big a thank you to all who donated. If you are able to donate anything please contact one of the people at the bottom of this page, thank you

HelpRaynham Hired Legal Counsel

During the appeals process it is imperative to have counsel represent HelpRaynham and the over 800 residents/interveners. Attorney Kevin O’Donnell and John McNabb, from Law Offices of Kevin F. O’Donnell, Cohasset, MA, were hired by HelpRaynham in April. Attorney O’Donnell and Mr. McNabb successfully helped the citizens of Abington in their opposition to a trash transfer station on Route 18.

Fund Raising Efforts

Since the spring Help Raynham has been raising funds by … - applying for and receiving a grant of $1,500 from New England Grass Roots Environmental Fund, an organization which helps grassroots groups.
- holding four (4) yard sales.
- receiving donations from neighbors like you.

Raynham’s Board Of Health Voted Against The Trash Transfer Station.

Last Spring, the Board of Health voted 2-1 against National Reclamation’s application for a trash transfer station to be located at 1958 Broadway. National Reclamation filed a complaint in Suffolk Superior Court appealing the Board’s decision.

Carney said he plans to file an appeal to superior court, "I expect their legal fees to be over $1 million," he said. "If they think they can beat me in court, then good luck."

Taunton Gazette:

The Board of Health voted 2-1 to deny the permit. Member RAY PLATT, the dissenting voter, said he favored approving the transfer station to handle 400 tons of trash a day rather than 1,000 tons.

Carney to sue Raynham if it doesn't submit "It's going to cost the town a lot of money," he said, possibly as much as $1 million. "I've been to the town's budget meetings. They don't have the money to fight me," he said.

Raynham can say no!

harsh words and accusations, along with the threat of filing an expensive lawsuit, is hardly the way good neighbors are expected to treat each other read more Taunton Gazette:

Thumbs up!

To Raynham Board of Health members John Donahue and Don McKinnon for standing up to the Carney family and voting down their proposal for a trash-transfer station at the dog track on Route 138. Ray Platt, clearly lacked the fortitude of his counterparts and was the lone dissenting vote. read more The Enterprise:
