LOVE is like the weather; everyone talks about it and few attempt to do anything constructive about it. Wouldn't you rather forego yet another dismal 'happy hour' and hurry home to a being who truly loves you, who doesn't care what you own but just how you are? Have you been greeted at the door lately with an affectionate kiss by a companion joyous to have you home?

Young or old, rich or poor, handsome or homely, YOU CAN HAVE LOVE. Dozens of loving and lovable animals await adoption at the Broward County Shelter at 1870 SW 39 Street in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Recent polls indicate that the people most likely to find love with a human of their choosing are those who are happy and contented pet owners. Sharing life with a well-cared for animal shows maturity, responsibility, and a willingness to open one's life to another. These traits have tremendous appeal to the opposite sex.

Whether you are a dog fancier, a cat person, or both, one of the Broward County Shelters has the love of your life waiting for you. Adoption generally takes one day. Proof of address is required and the adoption fee, which includes spaying and neutering, is $60. Payment may be made in cash, by Discover Card, Master or Visa Cards. The Fort Lauderdale shelter is conveniently located adjacent to the Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport just off Perimeter Road and the hours of operation are 8:00AM to 5:30PM Monday through Saturday and adoption hours are from 11:00AM to 5:00PM. The Pompano Beach Shelter is located at 3100 NW 19 Terrace, between Sample and Copans Roads to the north and south, and between Powerline and Andrews Avenue to the east and west. Hours at the Pompano Shelter are 10:00AM to 4:00PM, Monday through Friday. Both shelters are closed on all legal holidays.
