BIOGRAPHY
Conceived in July 1998, Hemispheres is composed of three Vermont musicians who recognized in each other the unmistakable influence of the venerable Canadian rock trio RUSH. The classic appeal, wide range and technical challenge of RUSH's music has since become inspiration to a wealth of original music that reflects the same spirit.
Ken Marisseau - Vocals, Guitar, Synthesizer, Bass Pedals
No, it's not a misprint; he plays all that during a show (sometimes all at once!). A music degree and performance dating back to the 70's are tested in this challenging role. Like the members of RUSH, Ken is fascinated by the relationship between music and technology, and this theme appears in his compositions as well as his performance.
Michael Mumblo - Drums, Electronic Percussion, Classical Guitar
Whoever coined the phrase "less is more" certainly wasn't thinking about Mike's drum kit. Like the legendary Neil Peart, Mike is not content to merely keep a beat, but uses percussion as an equal musical voice with the other instruments in the band. And with ten years of gigs behind him, rest assured he uses all the drums he brings to a show.
Curt Stannard - Bass Guitar, Synthesizer
A masterful player and veteran of over twenty years of performance, Curt has covered styles from jazz and blues to the Grateful Dead, as well as his own songs. Through it all can be heard the dramatic and melodic influences of Geddy Lee's thundering bass riffs.
Three talented, veteran musicians who share a love of challenge, a deep respect for the music and a desire to share it with others. Not your average bar band, HEMISPHERES is great entertainment.
