Superconcert 1968

I had read that this CD was a straight copy of the Purple Songs CD. But this isn't exactly the case. Superconcert 1968 contains all the inbetween song chatting, and is about 10 minutes longer because of this. Also, listening to the two CDs back-to-back, Purple Songs appears to have had some reverb added to give it more depth. A couple other differences, the track order is slightly different, Killing Floor and Tax Free being swapped on the two. As well, Superconcert contains about 30 seconds of Wild Thing, which is missing from Purple Songs. The track gets cut off, and I read something the other day about the whole soundboard tape recently surfacing. But until it shows up, we'll have to imagine what Jimi does with this version of Wild Thing. Overall, this is a pretty good concert and supposedly one of the more bootlegged shows, which I would personally disagree with. I have found more Maui/Rainbow Bridge and Winterland material than this particular concert. But that just might be me.

Sound quality is pretty decent, no reverb compared to the Purple Songs CD, and more complete as well. Not really a must-have concert, but one you would probably like.
