Crash Landing

This one is available in a couple versions, the original release, and the "remastered" version. And both stink. This was Alan Douglas at his worst, erasing backing tracks, and having outside musicians come in and play them over again (including guitar parts!!), some 5 years after Hendrix's death. I've heard most of these songs on ROIO's, and let me tell you, even with the lousy sound ROIO's generally have, they are miles above this crap. The performances on this, and the follow up Douglas hatchet job `Midnight Lightning', are so lifeless and boring, you just want to scream. Perhaps the original versions weren't quote-unquote "complete", but even in their unfinished stage, they had more passion and feeling than these do. This one is now out of print, and as far as I'm concerned, good riddance!
