Ball & Chain is a CD I actually traded for to get for someone else, but has made a nice addition to my collection. Honeybed is a new track for me, though the riff appears in a slightly different version on the track Come Down Hard On Me Baby.
Three Little Bears is the vocal overdub session to the War Heroes track, but contains the complete jam. The final 4 minutes or so of this track is stunning, featuring maybe some of Jimi's best guitar work.
The multiple takes of Piano Roll are very jazzy, featuring Steve Winwood on piano. Later this same night, the long blues track Voodoo Chile (from Electric Ladyland) would be also be recorded.
Messenger is another studio jam, though to me the piano sounds like it's been overdubbed from a different session. Some Band Of Gypsys studio material follows, Message To Love and 6 attempts at Power Of Soul, the most complete being take six.
The CD closes with 2 more great jams from the TTG Studio sessions.
Good quality on this release, with some slight tape hiss. A couple tracks can be found in slightly better quality on Mixdown Master Tapes, but there is still quite a bit of "new" material, at least for me, on this CD. This is a good one to add to your collection.
