This site is dedicated to my father, Henry J. Rybak, and his submarine career. Henry retired from the submarine service after 20 years, as Chief Electrician Mate (SS). His submarine career started in 1933, when he reported to New London Submarine Training School in New London, Connecticut.
With this site, I hope to pass on a little of the history of his career on the boats. It has been a very pleasant experience for my son and myself. My Father past away when I was twenty-four years old. The one regret I have in life, is that I never took the time to sit down with my Father to talk about his life on submarines and how it changed from my time on a fast attack nuclear submarine.
I would like to take the time and say thank you to all the people, who have helped me put this site together. To John Parker (Seattle, Washington) who sparked my interest in doing a web site for my Father. To all the web sites that I have acquired information about the old "pig" boats, and fleet boats. To the old shipmates of my Father, who took the time to send me information. And to those of you I e-mailed out of the blue for info and you return my messages.
Last but not least, my son Ryan. Without his help in making the web pages and getting the information in the right spots, the dream would have never became real.
