The Tenders

Over the time I have done research about my Fathers submarine duty, the one thing that always comes up is the submarine tender. The Tender’s played an important part in the Pacific War Theater, and should not be forgotten.

The men, who manned the tenders, were in that group of unsung hero’s. Back in that time period, part of a boat crew coming off of a run, would be station on the tender’s for support of the boats coming in from patrols and daily upkeep.

I imagine the men that had the tender’s as there permanent station, work long hours and days keeping the old fleet boats in good repair. These men should never be forgotten for what they did to win the war in the pacific. Without them, the boats would not have been on their stations destroying ships of the Japanese Imperial fleet.

I have included photos of the tenders on this web page, that my Father work on or with, in his Submarine career.
