Compass Yachts:These were made in Henderson, New Zealand in the early 1970s. Approximately 300 fibre glass H28s were made until 1984. They were sold in kit form and complete. The company closed in 1984. I believe they where all sloop rig.

Parkins:
Far East Yachts:The Bermuda 30 is a modified H-28. There were several versions. One with the hard chine bottom made of wood. Another with a wine glass bottom out of fibreglass. From that grew the Offshore 31 ketch. Wine glass bottom (fiberglass) with the rudder inboard. BTW a sloop version was also produced of the OS-31. This particular boat was a faster sailing boat than the ketch rig.
I would like to thank Steve Collins for the above information.

The OriginalThe original reference to the H28 was in "Sensible Cruising Designs" by L.Francis Herreshoff, wherein one chapter is devoted to the H28. The book is still available in paperback.
