Euclid who lived around  300 B.C. stated that all right 

angles are congruent. This theorem helps to prove the HL postulate.

Another one of Euclid postulates is that things equal to the same thing are also 

equal to each other, or the reflexive property. If equals are added 

or subtracted from equals then the product is equal.

These theorems that Euclid help prove helps you when you are trying to

prove triangles by SAS, HL or one of the other ways to prove 

triangles congruent.
