Equilateral Trianlges are trianlges who have all three sides congruent to each other. An equilateral triangles is also an isoceles triangle because an isoceles traingle is a triangle that has at least two sides congruent, since an equilateral traingle has all three sides congruent, it can be called isoceles triangle. We have proven that the base angles of an isoceles triangle are congruent (see isoceles triangle for a complete proof of this theorem). Since all three sides are congruent than all three angles of an equilateral triangle are congruent. Therefore the measure of the angle of an equilateral triangle is 60 degrees. because the sum of the measures of a triangle is equal to 180 degrees. An equilateral traingle can also be called an equiangular trianlge because all of its angles are congruent. |
