Songs about Animals

Songs from MY SONG BOOK.

I have tried to find as many of these songs as possible on the internet. Some of these versions are very different from the way I sing them and some have different lyrics. For example, in “There’s a Hole in the Bucket”, Lisa is called Maria!

More Songs

Note: Songs 2, 3 and 4 seem to be playing at double speed, at least on my computer. I will try to fix this problem – and add more songs when I have time.

3.      Simple Gifts

This is a traditional American hymn. Sydney Carter, a British writer of Christian songs, used this tune for one of his songs. Can you find his song in our school hymn book?

4.    Jim Jones at Botany Bay

This is a traditional Australian song. Australia began as a British prison colony, and this song shows the defiant attitude of some of the convicts (prisoners) sent far across the sea to Australia. I usually like to sing this unaccompanied, but this version has guitar backing.
