These are pictures of the MSDS intake. It
is a very well planned out kit. The kit consist of all the mandrel
bent tubes and rubber hose clamps needed, the flange for the air flow sensor,
the cone filter with a heat shield on one side. All tubes are ceramic coated, which helps out a lot maintaining the inside of the tubes at a cool temperature. As for the install,
yes it took me three hours to get it in. You will need some mechanic skills
and tools to be able to do this install. It not hard but very time consuming.
As for the removal of the intake manifolds to be able to get the stock
airbox out, I did not do this. There are two easier ways to do it.
The way that I did it was to crack the stock airbox in half. If you
look closely to the stock airbox you can see that it consist of the parts,
the top and bottom part but glued together. You can easily crack the glue
off and it will come off. If you decide to put the stock airbox one
day in, you will have to glue it back together. The other way of doing
it, is to take off the driver's side engine mount which will make it easier
for the airbox to come out.
As for performance, yes I did see a difference
esp. at higher RPM's. It also gives the exhaust a nicer tune, esp
at higher RPM's when it just screams!!! I did do a before dyno
on the car, now I have to do an after. If interested on how to purchase
this kit or have any other questions feel free to e-mail
me.
