Why Choose HHCN?
There
are several reasons to chose HHCN as an excellent organization to host
volunteers and interns:
- All
of the organization's members, except the international coordinator,
have lived in the Chitwan area their entire lives, giving them a
unique perspective on the struggles of their less fortunate neighbors.
This is strikingly different from the vast majority of other
organizations in Nepal in which the members have not even visited the
areas where they send volunteers.
- HHCN
consults with local experts from the academic, government, and private
sectors which assist the organization in developing and implementing
HHCN's various programs. Again, most other organizations in Nepal do
not do this.
- HHCN's
members participate in all of its programs. Many other
organization’s members merely sit in offices and collect
volunteer’s fees, never venturing into the field to even witness the
programs they administer.
- HHCN
guides the volunteer through the entire experience in Nepal, from
meeting at the airport, to transportation and throughout the entire
program. Volunteers are never "thrown to the wolves" and
left to fend for themselves in impossible situations. While working
with HHCN, the volunteer will feel as though working in their own
country.
- While
guiding the volunteer, HHCN also allows the volunteer to tailor the
program to his or her individual needs.
- HHCN
charges $200 US per month. Several organizations charge more than that
amount and do not provide anything near the quality of HHCN.
- The
principal goal of HHCN is to help its community.
- Free
orientation program is given to all volunteers to give them basic
pictures of Nepali culture and village life.
If you have any questions regarding the operation and programs of HHCN,
please contact us. If you would like to get in touch with past
volunteers for their feedback, let us know. We will provide you with
some of their e-mail addresses.
