WILL OF WILLIAM MORE
The sixte daye of October, 1566, I William More of Groton in the countye of Suff'k gentilman make this my [unreadable] testamente. My bodye to be buried in the pishe churche of Groton. I bequeath unto my lovinge wief Alice More all my landes and tenements, except [those] to other persons pticulery geuen, duringe her naturall lyef. I geue unto Thomas Lappage my sonne in lawe, after the decease of my saide wief, my cappitall messuage in Boxford Churches, with the landes belonginge in the townes and feildes of Boxford and Edwardeston. Unto Raffe Lappage, after the deathe of my wief my messuage whiche Lewis of Stoke now dwelleth in. Unto William Lapage my messuage in Edwardeston. Unto Robert Lappage xxxli. To Mary and Alice Lappage, daughters of the said Robert Lappage, to either of them fyve poundes. To Alice Edgar my wives daughter fourtye poundes. Unto Margarett Pigott of Ippiswiche my sister foure poundes yerely. Unto Paskynge Nedeham my sisters daughter fourtye poundes. To her daughter Anne Newton when xxi. To my kynsman Henry Fox tenne poundes. Vnto Thomas Cowper thelder of Ippiswiche duringe his lyef my messuage in Caresey. Vnto Thomas More and his heires my landes and tenements called Lyndeseys in Stoke next Naylande. Vnto Thomas More the sonne of Richard More my landes and tenements called Jolyves w/in the sayde towne of Stoke, he to pay vnto Alice Starlinge his sister fyve poundes. Vnto Robert my kynesman twentye sixe pounds thirtene shillinges fowre pence. Vnto William, Thomas and Margerye More the children of John More of Hengham in Norff. To the children of Symon More my brother. Vnto John Wyntroppe gent, John Spencer, William Coo, and John Gale and there heires for cuer, after my wiefs dicease, my messuage in Boxforde and Hadleighe nowe in the tenure of Christofer Clyf, to distribute the rents to the poore people of Boxford and Groton. To the poore of Edwardeston the some of twelve poundes. To my sister Elizabeth Spencer twentye shillings. To John Dogat fyve poundes at thage of xxii yeres. To Anne Dogat fourtye shillings to be payde at the daye of her marriage. Chambre hangings &c vnto William Dogatte the yonger also five powndes to be payde to him at his age of xxi yeres. To Elizabeth More the daughter of my brother Richard More. The residue of my goodes I geue vnto my lovinge wife and Thomas Lappage her sonne, which twoe I ordeyne my executors. My said sonne in lawe shall have the execucon of the last will of my brother John Dogate to whom I was onely executor, and the bringinge upp of all the children of the sayde John Dogate.
