OBITUARY: The Jackson Herald, 2 May 2001. MISS PUCKETT Homemaker COMMERCE - Miss Mary Gladys Puckett, 86, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001. A native of Oconee County, Miss Puckett was a daughter of the late James and Martha Doggett Puckett. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Miss Puckett was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie Lou Puckett, on April 21. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in the Bethabara Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Vaughn Howington officiating. Survivors include one niece, Martha Roberts, GAinesville; and one nephew, Jimmy Puckett, Commerce. Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
