WILL:
I, Elizabeth Doggett, widdowe of the late Mr. John Dogett, marchant in Hambrough, being of great age, desire that my goods my be in a just manner bestowed as by my will is here specified. I comitt my Soule int the hands of the mercifull God for the sake of my onlie Saviour Jesus Christ. I ordeine my sonne Mr. John Dogett sole executor. I giue unto my sonne in lawe Mr. George Watson for himselfe, wife and ffamily for mourning, fiftie pounds. I giue to his wife my daughter Anna Watson for a Remembrance two siluer porringers and foure siluer spoones. bequesath unto my said daughter Watson's children two hundred pounds. Unto the children of my deceased eldest daughter Elizabeth Taylor, viz John and Francke Taylor each ten pounds for mourning. More to John Taylor a small siluer Beaker formerly giuen him by my sister Margarett and one hundred pounds (when) he be twenty foure yeare old. But in case he prove an vnthrifte the capitall shall remain in the hands of my executor -- and John Taylor have only the Interest of six pounds per annum as before. I giue unto my grandchild Francis Taylor one hundred pounds at her day of marriage. But in case shee dye before marriage unto her brother John. In case both theis Orphants should die before marriadge, the one hundred pounds shall be giuen to the children of my sonn John Davies and the other one hundred pounds to the children of my daughter Watson. To Francis Taylor a siluer beaker formerlie giuen to her mother by her godmother. Unto my sonne John Dogett my sol executor a siluer salt and six siluer spoons and all monies and goods of mine; and all things here or in England to be fully enjoyed by him and his heirs. And for the confirmacon hereof I have subscribed of this my will and testament two of one tenor, the one in Dutch, being in my owne hands -- the other in English, left with my sonne John Dogett to be observed according to the Lawes and Customes of England. Actum in Hambrough the tenth day of October 1653. This will was proved at Westminster the seaventeenth day of Janry 1654 by the Oathe of John Dogett the sonne and sole Executor. P.O.C. 320 Alchin.
