OBITUARY 1
John E. Cole, 89, of Greene County, died Wednesday, February 8, 2006.
Born in Barrow County, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mae Cole. He was a retired truck driver and was Baptist. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Anthony Cole, and a son, Johnny Hugh Cole.
Survivors include a daughter, Clara Mae Conner, Madison County; grandchildren, Vickie Hill, Mary Conner, Terry Conner, Tony Conner and Kathy Audette; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother, William Cole, Bethlehem; and a sister, Louise Manders, Athens.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 10, in the Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Robert Whatley officiating. Burial will be in Carter Hill Christian Church cemetery.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
