Notes: Source (1), "Genealogies of Virginia Families, from the Virginia Magazine of History and Biography," has some data that is inconsistent with data from other sources, namely that Thomas' first wife, Catherine, died without issue, and that he married his second wife, Fenton, in 1827. For his children by his wife Catherine the following tombstone inscriptions, Fitzhugh's Cemetery #2, are given: Sacred to the memory of Bushrod Washington son of Thomas B. Turner and Catherine Augusta, his wife youngest daughter of Champ Brockenbrough He was accidently shot in the face, August 12, 1841 Aged 12 years and 6 months. He was a lovely and interesting child and of Catherine Augusta Brockenbrough his sister, who died June 25, 1857 Aged 5 years They were the only children of their mother, who died in their infancy and left them to the care of their grandmother, Sarah Brockenbrough, who erects this monument. (Cemetery Location: North of King George Court House, Virginia, 1.6 miles on Route #3, thence 1.3 miles south on Route #620, thence 2.5 miles south on Route #631, and 2.8 miles south of Dogue, on Route #607, and 3 miles south on a private road, on Millbanks estate north of banks of the Rappahannock River. King George County, Virginia. It is enclosed in a nice wire fence, but quite a bit of honeysuckle in it.
