Ms. Steed, the Director
of Humble Bands, went to Stephen F. Austin
University and has directed for 29 years. Her bands have won 28
1st divisions for marching and 22 sweepstakes. She will be
directing until she is eighty-five years old. She attributes all
of her musical accomplishments to Mr. Mel Montgomery, her college
director, and Mr. Eddie Green from the University of Houston.
Paula Crider has also been a great mentor.
Mr. Roberts, our new band director, came
from Giddings and went to Sam Houston State University. He is a
percussionist, he has taught in Cy Fair and is currently director of the
Symphonic 1 Ensemble.
Mr. Caston went to SFA University and learned a lot from Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Darrell Holt, and Dr.
Bill Young. He has directed for 22 years and his bands have won
several 1st divisions in concert. He has also assisted 1st division
marching bands. His marching band
qualified for the state level in 1995. He has been directing at
Humble High School for 7 years and is looking forward to continued
success from the Humble Band students.
