I would like to introduce you to Teddy, our Golden Gentleman. He was found in deplorable conditions. He lived in a trailer park in a 6x6 pen. His dog house was to small and only his head and shoulder would fit inside out of the weather. When I first seen him it was 95 degrees, in full sun, and he was chained to the opposite side away from his food, water and the dog house. I gave him water from my sisters garden hose, and had her make sure he had water everyday. I went to talk to his owners about him, they would not release him. I offered to pay whatever they wanted, but they had intentions of breeding him. Thank goodness the trailer park decided they were no longer allowing dog houses and pens inside the trailer park. A few days later they called to see if I was still interested in Teddy, I went to pick him up that afternoon. I have never seen a dog so happy when he got out of the car. He ran and ran, jumped and kicked, he was thrilled at the chance to just run. He has remained with me for the last 5 years, and is a true joy. He has grown a little white in some areas and added a few more pounds, but remains the same fun loving and playful guy as ever. He now has a good warm place to sleep, good food and plenty of fresh water. He doesn't really care for the baths much, but loves to be brushed, especially his tummy. He loves to play, run, jump and not so thrilling, digging for moles. He is our wonder dog and is loved very much. |
