Administration Centre
The Hibiscus Coast Hospice provides a home based
palliative care service in this area from Puhoi in the North to Dairy Flat in the
South as well as the Orewa, Red Beach and Whangaparaoa communities.
This means that people can be cared for in their own homes in most
cases if that is their wish.
The Hibiscus Coast Hospice was formed in 1985 by a group of
concerned residents on the Coast. In 1992 it was registered as a
Charitable Trust. The Hospice is governed by a Board of Trustees.
It
is managed on behalf of all residents on the Hibiscus Coast. The
management team consists of a Manager, Medical Director, Nursing
Administrator, Coordinator of Volunteers, Project Coordinator and a Grief Suport
Coordinator. We have specially trained palliative care nurses and a
large number of volunteers. Click
here to see our dedicated team members.
The Hospice is owned by the community and run by the community.
It is heavily reliant on support from the community.
We are a member of Hospice New Zealand and follow prescribed
standards of care and the International Hospice Philosophy.
