REWRITES | ||||
The goal of rewrites is to help students master information that they may have missed on tests or quizzes. By having a chance to "correct" errors, students gain a greater understanding of the material and will be better prepared to understand future concepts. The goal of rewrites is not to let students "get a better grade" on tests that for which they have not adequately prepared. Rewrites on certain quizzes and tests can be done to improve your score. The following are the rules and conditions under which rewrites may be done. 1. You must sign up on the board for a rewrite appointment. Appointmetns are only available after school and during lunch. You may not do rewrites at home or in another class. 2. Rewrites must be completed within 2 days of receiving your test/quiz. For example, if you receive your exam back on Monday, you would have until Wednesday afternoon to complete the rewrites. 3. To be fair to students who do well on tests the FIRST time they take them, the following points will be awarded to for rewrties: --- Grade is < 70%; 1/3 points awarded --- Grade is 70% or greater; 1/2 points awarded 4. Finally, the question and the answer must be written out, in order, adn statples to the back of teh original test. 5. Students who do not follow these guidelines will not receive points for rewrites. |
