Tanqueray was given to me as a Secret Santa present for 2006. She is a beautiful bay warmblood who was trained for sporthorse classes and eventing. Tanq has the bloodlines to make her a high-caliber dressage and showjumping horse, and she is excelling at everything we throw at her in her training. She is an extremely versatile mare, and we cannot wait to begin taking her cross country and eventing her.

Before I got her, Tanq came from Ivia International. She has a spectacular pedigree, and a write-up about it from Alyssa is below as well. Tanqueray has had two foals:

TANQ's sire is the international showjumping keur stallion, EMILION, who is son of keur stallion, WELLINGTON, who has high breeding indexes for both dressage and showjumping. EMILION was the winner of one of the Volvo World Cup qualifiers, won the World Cup at Millstreet and with the German Team, he gained the 4th place in Dublin and Rotterdam and 2nd in Bremen. WELLINGTON is son of Netherland's "Stallion of the Century", NIMMERDOR, who is ranked 2nd in the Dutch stallion breeding index for showjumping. WELLINGTON's dam is the son of the legendary Thoroughbred stallion, LUCKY BOY who also sired CALYPSO. EMILION is regarded as one of the best grandsons of the legendary NIMMERDOR, which is a testament to his true quality.

TANQ's dam, FOOTLOOSE is a daughter of KWPN stallion, ARGUS, the only horse in the world to be simultaneously successful in Grand Prix showjumping and international dressage. He is sired by PION, son of keur rated Thoroughbred stallion, ABGAR xx, and out of a keur preferant prestatie Gelderlander mare, IRMA LA DEUCE. FOOTLOOSE's dam, the KWPN mare WEIGELIA, is a daughter of the Thoroughbred stallion, ELAN xx, who competed through S-level dressage and stood at stud in the Netherlands and then in Germany. At age 27, he is still actively standing at stud in Germany!
