History- Not much known here. He was the 2nd toughest student at Saryashki Junior High (whoopty-doo) and always had a very stong connection with spirits. He was Yuusuke's #1 rival until he was hit by a car and became a spiritual detective; then the demons ranked slightly over the carrot top. He helped with the battle of the Four Saint Beasts and became an instant rival to Hiei. In fact, his hatred for the short fire demon is only matched my his love for Hiei's twin sister, a Koorime named Yukina. However, he doesn't know that they are twins; he doesn't even know that Yukina has a crush on Hiei (my opinion from watching the show too much). He also likes cats. A _LOT_. In fact, he once sacrificed all dignity in order to keep his kitten from being hurt.
