1980 PRR Zoo Tower Poster -- "The Zoo Tower in the 1950s"
(SL)
Beautiful quality reproduction of Ted Xaras artwork showing GG1 locomotive No. 4896 easing
by a string of multiple unit MP54 electric passenger cars at Zoo Tower (adjacent to
Philadelphia's Zoological Garden). Commissioned by the Philadelphia Chapter of the
Pennsylvania Railroad Technical and Historical Society to depict a special period in the
dynamic history of the "Standard Railroad of the World" this artwork was never
the subject of a PRR calendar.
The original Ted Xaras painting is from the collection of Fred Freitas. Ted Xaras
specializes in railroad and other transportation subjects as well as portraiture. He is
also an Associate Professor of Fine Arts at Ursinus Collece, Collegeville, PA, and a
part-time lecturer on PRR history centering on the Philadelphia region. Large color poster
on heavy museum quality paper measuring approx. 18" by 24" suitable for framing

"Loewy's Legend" (SL)

1997 Limited Edition Aerial Photograph -- "The
World Famous Horseshoe Curve" (SL)This

Horseshoe Curve on the former "PRR" Pennsylvania Railroad's mainline.
Encompassing the entire curve, a Conrail Double Stack TV Train heading east bound down the
eastern slope of the Allegheny Mountains stretching completely around the curve! This
limited edition 16" x 20" print of the Horseshoe Curve is printed on
heavyweight, acid free gloss white paper stock, utilizing the state of the art printing
processes. Each print is individually numbered and accompanied by a certificate of
authenticity assuring the collector a true limited edition of unquestionable

PRR Broad Street Station Poster -- "The Pennsy at Broad Street
Station" (SL)
Beautiful quality reproduction of John Winfield's artwork showing two
famous GG-1 electrics awaiting departure as passengers board for a warm holiday trip. GG-1
#4935 can be viewed today at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, PA.

PRR Rockville Bridge Poster -- "Pennsylvania Railroad's Rockville
Bridge" (SL)
Beautiful quality reproduction of John Winfield's artwork showing one of Pennsy's big M1
class swinging off Rockville Bridge, just north of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and into
Enola Yard while M1a #6783 pulls out with westbound freight. Rockville Bridge, the longest
stone arch bridge in the world was completed by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1902.
Although never the subject of a PRR
calendar, the famous stone bridge scene also inspired the Dan Cupper book, "The
Rockville Bridge" (see our Rare
and Unusual Books page). Large full-color poster on heavy embossed neutral-ph
