| FRIENDS OF IYT TOWN WEEKLY NEWS..........1ST EDITION January 10th, 2001 HELLO ALL!!! Thanks so much for joining the club.. If for some chance you are having problems getting back into the club. Please bring up the concerns with either Dano (llval) or Myself (Cathy:)). Dano and I both had problems when we started organizing the club site.. so don't hesitate to ask.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BIRTHDAYS!!! I am gathering B-Days for our group.. this way everyone will be able to be recognized on that special day.. I also will include anniversaries... for either relationships or for the IYT game site... To fill in the calendar.. if you want to include anything.. please.. don't hesitate to make either Dano or Myself aware.. so that we can post it.. I won't need the years of the B-Days unless you want to provide that information. Just the Month and Day is great.. This weeks Birthday(s) are - January 11th...... However this is EVERYONES club... any suggestions or problems.. you will need to let us know.. and you can either do that by posting an email to us.. or on the message board.. or even catch us in the chat.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ******Under Construction****** On a daily basis Dano and I are in here either downloading photos.. links... submitting events on the calendar.. we realize it is a bit bare here.. but, please bear with us.. we are still playing in the tourneys. And managing other things as well... and look around the club.. Lots of interesting options to do.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ******Buffing up some skills or learning new ones****** Check the calendar for upcoming chats on specific games. Chess, Checkers, Go Moku, Stack4...etc. times will be set for specific topics.. just to let people know when they can voice their opinions and learn some hints from each other... soon these chats will start taking off and be quite a bit of help and maybe even help those not familar with the games.. all levels are encouraged to join in. When we start to build up the membership.. we will be able to include in the newsletters the times and dates of these chats.. we also will be more familar with the different time zones... and see what is going to work best with everyone. Does anyone know GMT??? I am in central time.. 2 hours behind IYT's... sorry if I missed anyone in chat earlier today due to this confusion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do take advantage also of getting to know other members.. you may have seen them around at IYT, but really don't know them.. this club is for entertainment as well as information and education.. And can be used as a tool... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ******Webtv****** There are lots of people at IYT that use Webtv. I don't really know if or how... those using that service are able to get here.. I hope there is a way.. since I don't want to exclude anyone.. I believe they should be able to get in with an email link.. If any of you use Web.tv please let me know.. so that I may pass on the information of how to achieve their memberships.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ***Something New at IYT*** Did you all notice the new feature of looking up other players.. by location...??? Go to the left menu column under Spy.. and click onto Search User Profile, scroll down halfway through the page. And it gives you a way to choose by catagories... Now.. I have been on the site for a little bit over a year.. and I never noticed that feature til about a week ago.. I don't know how new it actually is.. but... thought I would mention it.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you have any suggestions on things to include in the weekly news... please contact me with the suggestion so that I can post it in..How do you feel about maybe a classified section..? Or a section about Questions you may have that just aren't getting a response to...? I want to make this newsletter interesting to all.. and would love to hear suggestions on what you would like to see.. I plan on these topics regularily 1. Birthdays 2. Chat room events 3. Latest tourney winners (during the past week) 4. Hints, Tips and Suggestions about getting around IYT 5. Unusual links... 6. Member updates.. 7. Site news.. examples may be.. new games.. or products they sell... or comments by IYT Staff... 8. Maybe a joke.. but, it will be tame.. (if I can find any) *giggle* 9. And any concerns from members that they would like to pass on.. (you will need to contact Dano or I here or at IYT..to do so..) |
